With the background service of Mobile Blackbox, we intend to record and predict whether users’ daily behaviors are unusual or normal behaviors, based on time, location and physical activity measurements that we collect, using sensors on the mobile phone—e.g., GPS, WiFi, Accelerometer, Proximity, Light, Orientation, and Audio sensors. These measurements are used to predict whether users’ daily behaviors are frequently or infrequently generated events. This type of data may help in developing mobile-based systems that can efficiently predict risky/dangerous situations in which mobile users may find themselves. A user of our system can view their daily behavior as it is recorded on their phone or on our website: “www.mblackbox.com.” To ensure users’ privacy while using this application, we do not collect any recorded audio file on our server. We only collect and store simple binary (0,1) numerical data for these measurements on our server. Our mobile application predicts users’ behaviors from collected sensor data that measure and log users’ activity patterns, audio patterns, mobile call durations, directional walking pattern changes, battery power time durations, and network availability. The activity and audio patterns collected by the accelerometer and audio sensors are identified as a particular event by binary values (0 or 1). The application displays a user’s movement/activity patterns (e.g., walking, running, etc.) on the user’s mobile phone and on a different screen also displays their daily visited locations on a map. Another screen also provides our prediction results as to whether the user’s patterns are normal or unusual, based upon previous data collected and measured every 30 minutes on the phone. In addition to the mobile application’s display of user’s individual daily data on each user’s phone, our application can also provide a user with a historical summary of all the data collected to-date. This information is viewable for users on our website at: www.mblackbox.com. Those users who wish to view the historical summary of their individual pattern data on this website, must provide login information on the settings screen of the mobile application in order to access their historical data. Our mblackbox system only rescords users’ summary data on the server. However, the mobile phone’s blackbox service enables our application to store users’ sensor data for the most recent two-day period of data collection. Because of the mobile’s battery power limitation, we only record and store sensor data as follows: audio – recorded for 15 seconds every 5 minutes, location data – one measurement every 3 minutes, accelerometer sensor data -- every 5 seconds, and every other sensor -- 20 seconds of data, every 3 minutes. Any mobile user of our application can access and save their two-days’ of data collected on their phone by copying audio files and other sensor data from their phone to their computer with a USB connection. Individual mobile owners are the ONLY ones who can access these audio and sensor data from their own phone.更多
